cover it up with a robe

Do you ever wear a robe?

I’m in the market for a new bathrobe, something to wear while I do my hair and makeup after my shower/before I get dressed and at night over my pajamas. But I’m not sure what type to get — terrycloth, cotton or fleece. What do you recommend?

My Amor Verdadero (True Love) may be returning home from his deployment in as little as two weeks! Perhaps when he gets back, he’ll buy me one of these lovely little 14k gold-fill discs from Anne Kiel as a belated Valentine’s day present.

with this ring

Dear Generous Husband,

Born in March, my birthstone is Aquamarine. I think these simple stacking 14K gold and Aquamarine rings would make a fantastic 29th birthday present. (Yikes, 29!) What do you think?

Love,

Your Adoring and Appreciative Wife

PS – I found a 20% discount on this designer, oh wonderful husband. Just let me know if you’d like it…

reusable grocery bags

In an effort to be more green in 2009, I’d like to start using reusable bags when I go grocery shopping. Which brand of bags would you recommend, environmentally conscious readers: Envirosax or RuMe? Or are there there other manufacturers of reusable bags that I’ve overlooked?

At the moment I’m leaning towards RuMe because the handles appear to be longer and the website claims they can hold 6lbs more than Envirosax bags. Plus, Daily Candy is offering 25% off RuMe bags now.

I just love this image. The muted colors. The beautiful girl and those legs. The scenery below. Those legs!

According to i heart you, the image is from a Sophia Coppola-directed commercial for Miss Dior Cherie perfume. The commercial, Ms. Coppola’s first, will debut tonight during Gossip Girl (which I don’t watch–do you?).

I wonder if the perfume smells as good as it looks…

“ba rock it” t-shirt

As soon as I saw this t-shirt on A Cup of Jo, I knew I had to have it. I love the slogan, the color and its worn-in look.

The catch: Obama is not my husband’s candidate of choice (to be fair, McCain may not be either), so to purchase something political with our money just didn’t seem fair.

The solution: Ask my very liberal father to buy it for me.

He did! Thanks, dad.

Update: I just came across this 5×7 print on the Scoop. Dad?

accessories for italy

We made an impromptu stop at Dillard’s yesterday to see if they had any good Labor Day sale items. Specifically, I was hoping to find comfortable shoes and a hat to wear in Italy (I have been totally fixated on the idea of straw fedora), and I did–at ridiculously low prices.  I bought a pair of Born Gobino sandals that was 75% off the original price (I paid $12) and a paper straw fedora on sale for 50% off (I paid $17).

Then I came across The Sak Silverlake Canvas Crossbody, which seemed like a practical bag for our trip since I know I need to be cognizant of pickpocketers in Italy, particularly in Rome. It was also 50% off the original price, so I bought it for just $29.50.  Green was a bold choice for me; I usually stick with neutrals, and they had a tan bag, but the green just seemed so dang cheerful that I couldn’t pass it up.

Any thoughts on the best type of bag to carry when traveling?
